about
"Nate's Volvo" is a single from the band's forthcoming album entitled "Drowner". The 10 song album was recorded, mixed and mastered in four days. The recordings were produced with minimal overdubs as to preserve the "live" feel of the band. No pitch correction (aka Autotune) or digital sample enhancements were used in the making of the record which imparts a reality that is reminiscent of legendary bands from the early 90s like Dinosaur Jr., Pavement, and Nirvana.
lyrics
i was drunk every night for a long, long time
couldn’t stand being here, not a thing to do
well, i wanna be somebody new
i’m so full of shit that i don’t know myself
sleeping in, getting stoned, gonna see my friends
start the car, got the wind messing up my hair
the tape deck is frozen in rewind
karma for every time I lied
well, how come no one stuck around?
we wasted our youth to break from the town
and i can’t believe i feel so down
honey, only the good times seem to drown
and what’s worse is if i see you again
it’s only to bury one of our friends
and i can’t believe that’s how it ends
baby, some things just never make sense
grabbed a beer, went outside, got in nate’s volvo
sped away, left a cloud of nostalgia
sometimes i think i fell off track
i miss days of dumb fun i can’t get back
